Refund Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026At Booku, every book is custom-generated for one specific child. Because each product is personalized, our refund rules follow the nature of what you bought. We want you to love your book โ so we back it with a happiness guarantee.
1. Personalized digital books (PDF)
Each illustrated PDF is uniquely generated to the details you provide, so it is a personalized digital product made just for you. We stand behind it with a happiness guarantee:
- Before generation: If you have paid but have not yet started full-book generation, you can request a full refund, no questions asked.
- We'll fix it first: If your book contains errors, inappropriate content, or doesn't match the details you provided, we'll make it right at no extra cost โ edit the text yourself, regenerate illustrations, or contact us and we'll fix or regenerate the book for you.
- Happiness guarantee (14 days): If, after we've had a fair chance to put it right, you're still not happy with your book, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll give you a full refund.
- Because the book is a personalized digital product created specifically for you and delivered instantly, you ask us to begin generation immediately and you acknowledge that, outside of this happiness guarantee, you lose the statutory right of withdrawal for personalized digital content.
2. Printed books
Printed books are produced on demand and shipped to you. See our Shipping Policy for production and delivery estimates and costs.
- Damaged or defective: If your printed book arrives damaged, misprinted, or with a production defect, email us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and we'll reprint and reship it at no cost to you.
- Not delivered: If your order does not arrive within the estimated delivery window, contact us and we'll investigate and arrange a reprint or refund.
- Change of mind: Because each book is personalized and printed on demand, we cannot accept returns for change of mind once printing has started.
- Incorrect address: Please double-check your delivery address at checkout. We cannot refund orders that fail to deliver because of an incorrect address, but we'll help arrange a reprint where possible.
3. How to Request a Refund or Fix
To request a refund or report a problem:
- Email us at info@booku.design with your order details.
- Include a brief description of the issue (and a photo, for print defects).
- We will respond within 3 business days.
4. Refund Processing
- Approved refunds are processed through Stripe to your original payment method.
- Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank.
