The first book that actually delighted my child
This was the most unexpected present imaginable!
First you are surprised that it is a book about a girl (our child cannot stand fairy tales or anything magical, she wants realism in everything); then you refuse to believe the coincidence that it is about a girl who dances (we had only just started dance classes); then you notice that the heroine has your child’s name; and at the end you realise that even the picture looks like her!
The plot follows the script of our own life, which is hugely motivating for a child to read. She adores reading about herself. Though during the reading you do hear plenty of criticism: “we don’t stand like that, that jump is impossible, who goes on stage with hair like that?!”
All the same, this is the best way there is to give a child a love of reading!
The paper quality is excellent and the binding is hard, so little ones can “read with their teeth” too. Perfect for independent reading for children aged 5–7. We would happily order one as a longer chapter book as well.
