In the old house where his daddy grew up, Oliver pulls a battered book off the shelf — and out falls a treasure map, drawn in coloured pencil long ago. Its riddles lead to the apple tree, the cellar, the well, and a white stone under the raspberry canes.

Oliver digs, and up comes a wooden chest: little turtle figures, a magazine about computers, a hockey puck and a note — "Whoever finds them, play for me." That evening he calls Daddy to show him, and decides that one day he'll hide a treasure too.
