Anyone coming along?

Here’s the idea with Oliver in it. Type a name and it becomes your child’s.

Oliver walks into a valley of living dinosaurs with a badge and binoculars, and from behind the trees comes a heavy stomp, stomp, stomp. Ahead are a brachiosaurus, a triceratops, a spinosaurus, an ankylosaurus, a velociraptor and a tyrannosaurus — green valley, lake, hot sand — each with a fact and something to find in the picture. But only Oliver hears a rustle and a tiny peep behind. When the biggest one appears, Oliver hears which way and hides behind a boulder. On the way back there is a lost chick, and the guide whispers: birds are the dinosaurs' descendants, still all around us.

An excerpt

How the book begins

Early one summer morning, Oliver stood in front of the enormous gates of the Dino Park. In his hands he held his ticket — a real one, with a golden dinosaur on it — and he held it tight-tight. The gates were so tall that you had to tip your head all the way back, right up to the sky. […]

The gates creaked slowly, slowly open. And somewhere deep inside the park, something went stomping by, loud and heavy: STOMP. STOMP. STOMP.

Oliver’s tummy went all fizzy inside — maybe from fright, maybe from joy.
