Welcome to Booku ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Booku website and services located at booku.design. By accessing or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Service Description

Booku allows you to create customized stories featuring a child, their family, or friends.

Stories and illustrations are generated with the help of AI.

The final product is a personalized storybook in PDF format (5–6 stories).

Optionally, you may purchase an audiobook add-on.

No printed books are included, unless explicitly offered.

Books are usually delivered within 24 hours of order confirmation.

2. User Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

3. Content and Intellectual Property

  • Your Content: You retain ownership of the personal details and preferences you provide (child's name, description, interests, etc.).
  • Generated Content: Stories, illustrations, and audiobooks generated through our service are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use upon purchase.
  • Our Platform: The Booku platform, design, code, and branding are owned by Mind Technologies s.r.o.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use our service to generate inappropriate, harmful, or offensive content.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Share account credentials with third parties.

5. Payments and Pricing

  • Story previews are provided free of charge.
  • Full illustrated books and audiobook add-ons are available for purchase.
  • All prices are displayed in the applicable currency at the time of purchase.
  • Payment is processed securely through Paddle.

6. Third-Party Services

Our platform relies on the following third-party providers:

  • Google (Gemini AI) — AI story and content generation
  • Firebase (Google) — Authentication, data storage, and hosting
  • Paddle — Payment processing

Each provider operates under their own terms of service and privacy policies.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mind Technologies s.r.o. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Stories are intended for entertainment and inspiration only.

We take precautions, but AI may occasionally produce unexpected or inappropriate results. Please review your book before sharing with children.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Czech Republic.
